Apply for UK visa sponsorship

Before moving to the UK, you will need to obtain a Health and Care Worker visa. This allows you to remain in the country for up to five years and can be extended if required.

Register with the General Medical Council (GMC)

The GMC regulates Doctors in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. They set standards for Doctors to meet in their working lives. To practice as a Doctor in the UK you will need to apply for registration with GMC.

Demonstrate English Language Proficiency

Doctors interested in working in the UK are required to demonstrate their English language proficiency by passing either IELTS, or OET.
